Why practise yoga?

Yoga is used to still the mind. We can release ourselves from the pressure of our everyday lives through our practise of yoga. Paying attention to the breath helps turn our attention inwards. We become present, letting go of our worries from the past and concerns for the future. Yoga brings us peace.

Asana builds strength, flexibility and balance. It brings us harmony. Pranayama practices are the specific breathing exercises that intentionally cool us, heat us, centre us and stimulate us. Relaxation allows the body and mind to just be, without any concern for the physical body. Meditation practices centre the mind, bring deeper peace and teach us how to be at one with our higher self.
